Planning Permission
Do you want to undertake work on your home? Are you considering extending your house?  If so, you may require planning permission.  The links below will take you to the relevant local authorities

To obtain planning permission you need to contact your relevant local authority.

You may also need additional planning consents such as Listed Building Consent or Conservation Area Consent.

In addition, you will need to meet the Building Regulations.  Buildings regulations approval seeks to ensure that health and safety concerns are met, to ensure disabled access and to examine energy issues. Contact your relevant local authority for more information.  Copies of Building Regulations are kept at Bedford Central Library.

Local District Councils can provide maps for planning permission. There is a fee for this service.  Contact your relevant District Council for details.  Libraries cannot supply maps for planning permission under copyright legislation.
