There are surprisingly more woodland areas in Bedfordshire than you might expect including the Marston Vale Community Forest

  • Bedfordshire Ancient Woodlands Project
  • Forestry Commission website. The site includes a searchable database of woodlands in Bedfordshire.  Woodlands include Ampthill Forest. 
  • Forestry Commission for East of EnglandSite includes a report on 'Firewood, Fencing and Furniture in the East of England'
  • Greensand Trust. Works to conserve and manage important greensand habitats and species. The Trust manages the following woodlands: Heath Wood (Heath and Reach), Kings Wood (Heath and Reach), Oak Wood (Heath and Reach), Linslade Wood, Flitwick Wood, Aspley Wood and Chicksands Wood.  Their web site provides details of each woodland and includes images.
  • Woodland TrustManages a number of woodland areas in Bedfordshire including Kempston Wood, Plummers Wood (Haynes), Church Farm and Gullivers Spinney (Souldrop), Water End (Cople) Reynolds Wood (Brogborough) and Swineshead Wood.
  • Woodland for Life - Regional Woodland Strategy for the East of England. Report produced by the Forestry Commission.
