If you want to carry on learning but are unsure about what financial help is available, you may find the links below helpful.
   
    Further Education
  • Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA): is a weekly payment (dependent on household income) paid directly to young people who stay on in further education after 16.
  • Adult Learning Grant (ALG) is a weekly grant for adults. You can apply for this grant for the 2008/2009 academic year from May 19th 2008. Call 0800 100 900 for more information.   

Higher Education

  • Bedfordshire County Council.  The Local Authority is responsible for deciding on eligibility for student support and Bedfordshire County Council website has information about financial help for all Bedfordshire higher education students.
  • Student Finance Direct website has information about student finance including bursaries. If you live outside Bedfordshire you can find the name of your Local Authority through this website.
  • Student Tax Advice: a new website providing help and advice on tax matters for students.
