Bedfordshire Local Authority Schools

Bedfordshire County Council operates a three tier system of education. Children begin their primary education at a lower school and normally transfer at 9+ ( end of year 4) to the middle school and then at 13+ (end of year 8) to the upper school.

Review of School Structures
In 2006 Bedfordshire County Council completed its review of school structures and agreed to retain the three tier system of lower, middle and upper schools in Bedfordshire.
