Bin Dumped!
A new collection for Teens chosen by Teens at Leighton Buzzard
Library
|
Leighton Buzzard's Teen Reading Group, Novelteens, went on a book buy to
Waterstones in Milton Keynes. The aim was to choose books that we wanted
to see in the Teen Library, as well as thinking about the types of books other
people of our age would like. Most of the books chosen were
non-fiction and on a wide range of subjects, ranging from campervans to fashion
and an awful lot more......... |

|
After
we'd chosen the books and indulged in a well-earned snack break (book buying
is hard work!), our meeting was arranged for the following month. We needed to think of a name for the new collection and the name
decided upon was Bin Dumped - why? - because the books would be
displayed in what the library people call "dump bins." |
|
We designed a sticker to put on the front of the
books in the collection so that they could be easily identified and displayed in
the same area and then, once the books arrived at Leighton Buzzard, we
had to process them with collection stickers, date labels, book covers etc
Finally the collection was ready! We designed posters using
the photos that were taken during the book buy to decorate the Teen
Library and at the last Novelteens' meeting, "Bin Dumped" was launched.
Now come and borrow them! And join
Novelteens of
course.
