What are assessment tests?

Assessment tests are often used alongside other types of selection methods.  There are many different types of assessment tests but some of the most popular are those which test numerical and verbal reasoning.  Others tests include personality and aptitude tests.

Where to find information about assessment tests

• The Gateway to the Internet contains links to useful websites where you can find free aptitude and psychometric tests online.
• Bedford Central Library has a large selection of books on aptitude, technical, numeracy, verbal reasoning and psychometric tests and tests for specific professions. Most books include advice and example tests.
