  At Bedford Central Library a number of major works are available, including:
  • the original (unrevised) text of Acts of Parliament (Public General Acts) from 1959 to 1987 inclusive, in bound annual volumes
  • selected individual original (unrevised) Acts of Parliament
  • Statutory Instruments bound volumes from 1970 part 2 up to 1986 inclusive
  • All England Law Reports August 1972 - 2008
  • Halsbury's laws of England
  • Stone's justices' manual
  • Archbold criminal law and pleading
  • Waterlow's solicitors' and barristers' directory
  • a wide range of books on individual law topics. Many of these books are in loose-leaf format and are kept up-to-date throughout the year with amended pages

Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard libraries have smaller law collections, which include:

  • (at Dunstable Library only) original (unrevised) Acts of Parliament from 1966 to date, in bound annual volumes (publication is always about two years behind)
  • Stone's justices' manual
  • Waterlow's solicitors and barristers directory
  • Books on individual topics, including a small number of books that are in loose-leaf format and kept up-to-date throughout the year with amended pages
