Public General Acts UK Acts are available in revised versions or in original versions Revised versions Official revised versions of Acts in force are on a new web site, the UK Statute Law Database. Please note that the revision is not yet quite complete The revised Acts have any later amendments incorporated into the text, updated at least to the end of 2001 If an Act has not been completely updated, you will see an 'Update status warning' at the top of the text of the Act. The warning will link you to a page that lets you search for updates For more details on finding how up-to-date any Act is, click 'Update status of legislation' on the UK Statute Law Database home page For an overview of the database, click FAQ on the UK Statute Law Database home page Original versions Online The original text of Acts from 1988 onwards and some from 1837 - 1987 is online at the Acts of the UK Parliament section on the OPSI (Office of Public Sector Information) web site The original text of an Act as it was when enacted will not necessarily be up-to-date because Acts and sections of Acts are often amended by later legislation. If you need to see the amended text of an Act, see Revised versions above Printed The original text of Acts from 1959 to date is available in printed form at Bedford Central Library.
