'Online basics' has five short modules showing you how
to use a mouse and keyboard, how to email, how to search for information
and how to stay safe online
- Another site for beginners is the BBC's

Click, which leads you through some basic guides from the BBC's larger
Webwise site. The
Webwise site gives you video
guides to computer basics and Internet basics and a step-by-step guide to
the Internet
- You can learn more about the mouse, keyboard and Internet browser with the useful illustrated reference guides at
Digital Unite
- For free introductory sessions, courses, help with job skills or computers
available for self-help use, check the facilities available at your nearest UK
Online Centre. Facilities vary from centre to

- Introductory courses are also run by Central Bedfordshire College at the
Learning Shop, Dunstable (moving to a new location in Kingsway, Dunstable at
the end of October 2010, tel. 01582 605076) and by Bedford College at the
Bedford Learning Centre,
Bedford and at other locations. The colleges provide the courses in
partnership with
