The largest collection of dictionaries is at Bedford Central Library

At Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard libraries there are:

• Oxford English Dictionary (20 volumes) 
• Single volume English dictionaries
• Specialised dictionaries, including:
  American English, etymology, foreign words and phrases, idioms, rhyming, slang and synonyms
• Substantial dictionaries of Italian, French, Spanish and German
• Dictionaries of Arabic (Dunstable Library), Russian and other major languages
• Medieval Latin (Dunstable Library) and Classical Latin

At all other Bedfordshire libraries there are:

• English dictionaries
• Selected European language dictionaries
• Latin dictionaries
