This site, 'The official non-parochial BMDs service', has started putting online unpublished non-parochial registers from 1534 to 1865. They cover people whose key life events were not registered in the Anglican registers and include key non-conformist registers such as Presbyterians, Baptists and Wesleyan Methodists. They include births and baptisms, marriages, and deaths and burials

English and Welsh Register Offices
Register office addresses (including references from former registration districts). Certificates cost slightly less if you order from the the local register office at which the birth, marriage or death was registered than if you order by post, telephone or fax from the General Register Office (but the GRO cost is the same if you order online and supply the GRO reference numbers).
