The Railway Hotel

The Railway Hotel was built in 1840 and was originally known as "The Swan".  The first owner was a Mr. Benjamin Bradley.  It was later purchased by Mr. Edward Secret who ran it for 30 years until the 1870s. Charles Jolly was the publican by 1880 and in 1897 it was sold to the Luton Brewery "Greens".  At some later date a brochure advertising the hotel was issued.  The proprietor at this time was a Mr. Glossop.

The hotel was re-built in 1904.  In the 1990s the building was gutted by fire and is now a ruin (in 2006).
