A bomb drops on Marlborough Park by Mr C. Smith

"During the War a bomb dropped in what is now Marlborough park which was at that time allotments (behind the War Memorial opposite Kempston barracks).  The crater was about 24-30 ft across and it blew out the glass at the from of the barracks.  I remember my father saying (he was head of the ARP in Kempston) that the barracks should have blacked out their windows."
