Mr. Edward White, Hairdresser and Tobacconist,
84a, High Street.
Mr. Edward White, who has succeeded Mr. W. G. Mallows in the
proprietorship of this business, has developed the latter to such an
extent that it is now one of the most popular establishments of the kind
in the town. It occupies an excellent position, being situated in a
prominent part of the High Street, and is within easy reach from all
quarters. The premises comprise a conveniently-sized shop and adjuncts,
with an attractive frontage and an interior, the arrangements of which are
perfect In every respect. The shaving and hairdressing saloons are fitted
up in the most superior style, and every effort has been made by Mr. White
to ensure the comfort and convenience of his numerous patrons. That he has
been successful in these endeavours is proved by the large number of his
patrons, who include the elite of the neighbourhood. Special attention is
given to the requirements of ladies and children in regard to the
treatment of the hair, a saloon being reserved expressly for them, where
they may be assured of the most careful attention. Mr. White carries on a
considerable business as a tobacconist, and the establishment contains a
first-class stock of every description of tobacco, cigars, and various
goods. Pipes of the best make in various woods and designs are kept
plentifully in stock.![]()
