Florence Amy Goodland
The photographs, cloth badge and silver pin all belonged to Florence Amy Goodland a student at Bedford Physical training College 1910-1912. Florence, known as "the Babe" to her family was the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Edward Goodland of Taunton. Following her training at the college she became Mistress in dancing, physical training and games at Maynard School in Exeter. The photographs capture her enjoyment of dance and her love of the outdoors which her course had encouraged with great success. She returned to Bedfordshire in 1975 to visit the scene of her student days and recalled walking from the college to the church in Biddenham to attend morning service.
