Amistad
The Spanish ship Amistad is a slave carrier in 1830's. When captured the audience experiences the horror of watery deaths and the subsequent court room dramas as murder cases are brought against the surviving slaves. This Spielberg film brings to life what happened to so many slaves.

Antwone Fisher
Fighting in the U.S. Navy is not a good idea, so after too many fist fights, sailor Antwone Fisher is put into therapy. Here he confronts the demons of his past life and the audience follow his struggles to remake his world and move on. Derek Luke manages the moods swings excellently, well supported by Denzel Washington.
