Mobile Library Frequently Asked Questions

Back to the Mobile Libraries Page

How do I find the mobile library routes and visit dates?

Mobile library routes are set on a 1 or 2 week schedule.
Click here to follow the three steps to find your mobile route and when it will next visit.
Library Link vehicles operate on a 3 and 4 week rota.

Why do I need a separate library card for the mobile libraries?

If you use a mobile library you will be given a special mobile library card, even if you are already a member of the library service.  This is due to the fact the mobiles visit every 1 or 2 weeks and so the items have to be issued for 4 weeks.  Whilst in the library we have a three week loan period. The only way to ensure that as a mobile library user your items are issued for the right period and you are not charged fines is to provide you with a separate library card.

What are the fines and charges on the mobile library?

There are no fine charges for mobile library users, but reservation and hire charges are applicable.  Click here to see the charges.
You may be entitled to concessions, you can find out more about the concessions available here.
