What is a Project Collection?

A project collection is a box of books on one or more subjects tailored to your topic needs and can be all non-fiction, all fiction or a mixture of both. It is issued for one term after which it must be returned, in full, to the Schools Library Service or renewed for another term.
NB If you renew a project it counts as a new loan on your entitlement.
Each school is entitled to one project collection per class per term and each collection contains up to 30 or 15 items depending on which package your school buys. All loans are subject to availability.
Schools with less than 67 pupils who buy a Comprehensive Package are entitled to 4 collections per term.

How do I order my projects?

Ordering your project collections has never been easier!
Simply complete the online Project Request Form.  Your request will be sent directly to the Schools Library Service to be processed straight away. If you know which subjects you will be requiring for the whole school year, send all your requests in together. You don't have to wait until the previous term to send them in. If we receive your requests by the date specified the projects will be delivered before or during the first two weeks of the required term.

Do I have to order my projects this way?

If you prefer you can order your projects by returning the Project Request forms which are enclosed in the 'Welcome Pack' you receive at the beginning of the financial year.
Fill the form in with as much detail as you can (not forgetting the Teacher's Name) and send it to the Schools Library Service. We will make up the collections for you.
Alternatively if teachers prefer, they are always welcome to come to the Schools Library Centre and choose their own projects. We can arrange to deliver any that you choose personally.

What do I get?

Inside the project box you will find a list of the enclosed books and an evaluation form. The list is for you to keep so that when you return the box at the end of term you can ensure that all the correct books are included.
The evaluation form is for any comments you may have, however, if you have a problem with any of the contents please ring or email us straight away.
